Indonesia: Golden Visa program

The Indonesian government has introduced a ‘Golden visa’ program. The aim of the program is to attract foreign nationals and corporate investors. The Golden visa will provide residency for five to ten years and to be eligible, the individual applicant must establish a company in Indonesia by investing 2,500,000 US dollars, in order to eligible for a stay of five years. A 10 year stay permit would require an investment of USD 5,000,000 US dollars.

For applicants who do not wish to invest into a business, there is an option to deposit funds worth 350,000 US dollars for a 5-year Golden Visa stay permit, and 700,000 US dollars for a 10-year Golden Visa stay permit.

After obtaining the Golden visa, foreign nationals do not need to apply for a temporary stay permit (ITAS).

Sweden: New model to process work permits

The Swedish Migration Agency has introduced a new model for promoting highly qualified labor immigration to Sweden and to establish international recruitment units.

The new model ensures support by the Swedish Migration Agency to companies and employers in the recruitment of highly qualified workers. This model provides an easier way to apply and complete applications for work permits via improved e-service, as well as shorter processing time for work permits (within 30 days). Therefore, not only it should be easy for employers to contact the Swedish Migration Agency and receive support with the recruitment process, but the employers will receive newly hired professionals on time, thanks to a faster overall process.
