Australia: Closure of the 408 Covid visa

The Australian government has announced the closure of the Temporary Activity Visa (subclass 408) Australian Government endorsed events (COVID-19 Pandemic event). This visa was introduced by the Australian government to enable temporary migrants to remain in Australia during COVID-19 pandemic border closures. From September 02, 2023, this visa will be available only to those who already hold a Pandemic Event visa and only until February 01, 2024, when this visa is fully closed.

China: Update on COVID-19 testing

Effective from August 30, 2023, the Chinese government no longer requires a negative COVID-19 or Antigen Rapid Test (ART) test result as a condition for entry. Furthermore, it is no longer required to declare the test result in the Health Declaration Form.

Egypt: Update on visa upon arrival for Canadian nationals

As of October 01, 2023, Canadian nationals will no longer be eligible to obtain a visa online before travelling to or upon arrival to Egypt. It is necessary to obtain a visa from an Egyptian consulate or embassy abroad prior to travelling to Egypt.
