United States: Exemption of biometric fee for Form I-539

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced the exemption of the biometric service fee for Form I-539, Application to Extend/ Change Nonimmigrant Status. In most cases, a biometric appointment to collect fingerprints and photo will not be scheduled. This is valid for applicants who filed their application on or after October 01, 2023. If the biometric service fee is submitted by mistake and the payment is combined with a paper-based Form I-539 filling fee, USCIS will consider this as an incorrect filling and the Form I-539 will be rejected.

Netherlands: Golden Visa programNetherlands

The Immigration and Naturalisation Service in the Netherlands has confirmed abolishing the Golden Visa Program as of January 01, 2024. This program had allowed foreign investors to acquire permanent residency after contributing at least 1,250,000 EUR to the economy. The reason for closing is the low interest towards this program. Investors can apply for a residence permit under this scheme until December 31, 2023.
