APAC

China: All foreign nationals currently unable to enter China due to the entry ban can now apply for a new entry visa. Contact Debra Jane Beynon, Regional Immigration Manager, for more info.

India: The government of India plans to facilitate the return of Indian nationals stranded abroad in phases from May 7, 2020. More info at: Ministry of Home Affairs

Malaysia: Prime Minister announces that most industries and business activities will resume operations. More info at: Immigration Department of Malaysia

Philippines: Various advisories issued in relation to the Enhanced Community Quarantine extension until May 15, 2020. Among them are:

  • Department of Labor and Employment: Period of interruption for filing applications (new and renewal) for Alien Employment Permits (AEPs) and Private Employment Agency (PEA) licenses.
  • Department of Transportation: Except cases of emergency (air ambulances and planes carrying medical supplies, aircrafts diverted to the country because of bad weather and maintenance flights), the use of all international airports in the Philippines for international inbound passenger flights are temporarily suspended.
  • Bureau of Immigration: Temporary suspension of transactions shall remain.

EMEA

France: French residence permits, visas, “récépissés” or ”APS” expiring between March 16 and May 15, 2020, extended for a 6-month period. No application required. This allows the holder to remain in the country while waiting on a renewal application.

Note: It is not recommended that persons with expired titles travel out of France as they could experience difficulties at the border upon return.
