AMER

Argentina: The government extends mandatory quarantine until May 10, 2020. More info at: Reuters

Chile: As at April 30, Temuco and Osorno ends quarantine. The following communes are still under quarantine: Estacion Central, La Pintana, North part of Observatorio st, San Ramon, southern Americo Vespucio, Urban part of Angol and Victoria.

APAC

Malaysia: The Government of Malaysia extends movement control order until May 12, 2020. More info at: Channel New Asia and Immigration Department of Malaysia

Philippines: Extension of enhanced community quarantine until May 15, 2020.  More info at: CNN Philippines

Thailand:

  • The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand extends international flight ban to Thailand from May 1 to May 31, 2020.
  • Emergency Decree extended from May 1 until May 31, 2020. Important rules everyone must follow include:
    • Leaving your home between 10 p.m. and 4.00 a.m. is prohibited. Medical and banking personnel, and logistics workers handling consumer goods, agricultural produce, pharmaceutical products, medical supplies and equipment, newspapers, fuel, post, products bound for export and imported goods are exempt from curfew restrictions.
    • Assembling to carry out activities, to gather at any crowded place, or to commit any act that may cause unrest are also prohibited.
    • People should refrain or delay non-essential cross-provincial travels and should reside at or work from their habitual residences.
  • The Thai Immigration Bureau extends visa relief measures from May 1 to July 31, 2020.

EMEA

Greece: The Prime Minister announces government’s plans for lifting lockdown restrictions over the next two months. More info at: Prime Minister (in Greek)

South Africa: The President declares eased lockdown restrictions from May 1, 2020 (from level 5 to level 4). More info at: The Africa Report

Switzerland: The Federal Council to ease restrictions as of May 11, 2020, including:

  • Entry restrictions.
  • Process continuation of pending applications submitted before March 25, 2020.
  • Border controls still remain in place.
  • Shops, restaurants, markets, museums and libraries will reopen.
  • Classes will be held in primary and lower secondary schools.
