Taiwan: Work permit application

The Taiwanese government has announced that work permit applications must be submitted online. Work permit applicants will need to create an account to submit any applications from July 30, 2022, onward. To create an account, the company will be required to hold the appropriate business credentials and will need to provide any personal information necessary for the application.

Sweden: New permit

Foreigners seeking employment or wishing to start a business in the country are now able to apply for the special residence permit. When the foreigner finds work or starts a new business, they can apply for work authorization or run their business from the date of application filling. To be eligible for the permit, they must:

  • Hold an advanced degree
  • Submit supporting document and proof of financial means
  • Hold valid international health insurance.
  • Currently live outside of Sweden and hold a passport that will be valid for their entire stay in the country

If approved, individuals will receive a start-up visa to stay in Sweden for three to nine months. Family members and dependents are not eligible to join the applicant on this visa.
