Intra-Company Transfer Directive implemented in Germany

The German government has implemented an Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Directive with immediate effect. This ICT Directive governs the conditions for entry and residence of third-country nationals within the ICT process.

This newly implemented ICT Directive will affect companies assigning staff from any EU country to the same group of companies in Germany. Furthermore it will affect employees, who have been working at the same group of companies for at least six months and who have been sent or will be sent to Germany on an ICT assignment.

Even though the Directive has been implemented directly, the German authorities will need some time to familiarize with the new process. Further information on the practical implementation is expected shortly.
